easy like sunday evening

today i had to head out of town for another company trip, so we decided to close out the evening with some good old sushi. amura downtown is our spot. if ever in downtown orlando, check out amura. what a way to close out the weekend....yummy!

conversations with a 3 year old

today as many sabbaths, i had the pleasure of talking to my nephew, D. as soon as he got on the phone he had to tell me about his new toy gordon and since it was sabbath, he had to put gordon away, so he ask me, "is it sabbath there?" Yes, I replied. He then asked what are we going to do. I said we are going to read our sabbath lesson and then uncle orville is going to sing. What is he going to sing, D asked. He's going to sing Jesus loves me. That's my song, D said. we couldn't help but to laugh and after getting off the phone we came to the conclusion that he wanted to know if it was sabbath at our house because if it wasn't then he would try to come over so that he could play with gordon. so i ask the question, whose smarter, the adults or the children? they certainly know how to work their magic.

a moment of silence

even though this is a site of peace on the highway during rush hour, i had to remember the families in mourning. earlier this week there was a seventy car pile up on interstate 4, due to heavy fog on the highway, four people lost their lives. a fifteen mile stretch of the highway was closed down. as i was driving down the highway i was happy that their was no rush hour traffic and i could get home that much quicker, but at the end of that thought, i began to think about the people who lost their lives and their families.

sweet serenaty

another peek at my niece, serenaty. every minute i found myself missing her. she filled our home with fun, laughter and serenity. about to turn two this girl as a personality of her own. me: "serenaty that's dirty, don't eat that serenaty: why me: it's unhealthy serenaty: iiiiiiiii knoooooow this was the typical conversation in our home last week. everytime we tried to tell her something, she exclaimed, "I know" so with an empty house, there was talk of baby (from my end of course)....

it's a new day and i'm feeling fine

i hope the holidays brought you joy, love and many blessings. it certainly was an enjoyable holiday for us. we spent time with family, friends and just kicking our feet up and relaxing. this week we had my niece Serenaty, she is such a joy to have around. even though she is two years old, she helped in making my new year resolution. eat well and plenty, get lots of sleep and always have a smile on my face even when i bump my head every now and then. i am so thankful to see another year. i hope 2008 is a good year for all.
